My husband, who had been looking for real work for a couple of years, suddenly got a job in Texas. That day we started looking for apartments near arboretum in Austin because his job was managing a store in that shopping center. It’s apparently very well known in Austin, but of course we didn’t know enough about the area other than that we needed to find a place to stay very quickly because we’re going down there in a matter of a few weeks. My fear was that we wouldn’t be able to find anything at such short notice.
I needn’t have worried, however, because our search turned up a number of promising leads. Further investigation turned up a complex that just looked adorable to both of us. The pictures of the apartments were really snazzy, and the grounds and pool looked gorgeous. Of course, looks can be deceiving so we decided to call and make an appointment for a viewing so we could get a better idea of what we were in for before pulling the trigger. My parents bought us a couple of plane tickets and we arrived at the complex a few days later.
All I can say is wow. This place is better than any place we’ve lived, and it’s far better than my parents’ basement which is were we currently reside. The staff was as polite as could be with their sunny Texas personalities and the apartment we’re going to get is well within our new, and much bigger, budget. I’m so excited for us to finally strike out on our own and making good money. I never thought I’d live in Texas, but I’m definitely willing to give it a shot. Austin is such a fun, liberal city with so many things to do. We can’t wait!
